A technical foundation as solid the homes they build.

The Content Management System had to do some serious heavy lifting and be lightning-quick to pick up.

Problem:

There is no “web team” at Morrison, just a small marketing team guiding the website. They need to focus on marketing, and we needed to empower them to do that by making the process of loading and maintaining the massive (and complex) product inventory simple.

Solution:

To support Morrison's marketing team, the content management system we built had to manage both highly specialized content types like home profiles, but also offer powerful authoring tools for content pages and blog posts. It needed to allow users to create accounts for the MyHome inspiration board feature and it had to be ready within strict timelines, so a complete custom build was out of the question. To accomplish all of that, we chose to use expression engine with some choice plug ins, and we poured a whole lot of love into the interfaces to make content loading a snap (and lightning fast) for the Morrison team.

Home Profiles and Search: Morrison Homes has more models and options than you can imagine. Luckily for home buyers, finding the perfect home with Morrison's website is easy as pie. The bespoke feature visually separates homes by community, product type, and critical stats, like number of bedrooms and total square footage. Rollover tiles let you preview the home before diving into the full profile. The home profiles give you a quick way to explore floor plan options, while referencing the photos videos & 360° tours. Morrison’s mobile site is far from a trimmed down version of their desktop site. All this powerful functionality was rethought and optimized for mobile browsing, rather than discarded, to provide mobile visitors the same experience on the go.

MyHome: The marketing team at Morrison wanted a feature on their site for potential customers to be able to browse their home buying options and visually piece together their ideal home based on spec options; so Pump created MyHome. This feature houses Morrison's hundreds of photos and allows visitors to find a kitchen style, flooring plan or exterior spec that they love. They can even set their wall colours and share their collection with family and friends! As users browse the rest of the Morrison site they can save communities, home models, and any photos to their collection. We also made it fully responsive so users can play and explore on whichever device they prefer.
